CAMFED (the Campaign for Female Education) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting girls’ education and empowering young women in rural sub-Saharan Africa.
Through its innovative, community-led model, CAMFED has helped over 2.6 million children access primary and secondary education. The entrepreneurs featured here are all CAMFED alumnae who received interest-free loans to grow their businesses, repaid not with money but through “social interest”—volunteering in roles that strengthen their communities, like advocating for early childhood education and mentoring current students.
